The movie Diana does not truthfully represent historical information about Princess Diana. The director, Oliver Hirschbiegel’s depiction within the film, does not represent the wonderful life of Diana that continues to fascinate everyday people worldwide. The film presents the relationships she had with Dr Hasnat Kahn and briefly former husband Prince Charles, none who which were contacted throughout the making of the film suggesting the material may not be accurate. The film does not look into the charitable actions Diana acted upon throughout her life, rather it dramatizes her love life. The film failed to present information about Diana and Charles divorce and what occurred throughout their married life, but more focused on the love affairs Diana had. Some of the important facts that should have been included and that would be useful for historical information is, ‘Diana lost ‘Her Royal Highness’ title in the divorce settlement, Charles agreed to pay Diana a lump sum of $26.35 million, and roughly $620,000 a year to run her private office. Charles and Diana also agreed to share custody of their two sons, William, 14, and Harry, 11.’ As a historical source being provided with information about their divorce and relationship would have provided historians with knowledgeable information.
