The constitutional convention was held on May 25, 1787 in Philadelphia's Pennsylvania state house. Shay's rebellion was the main reasoning of the convention. Daniel Shay led a 1200 people protested because of high taxes that all of the states were facing. Rhode Island was the only state who didn't send representatives to the convention. The small state didn't want to lose their rights as a state just because they were small. Even though the rebellion was the main reason for the convention, it still had to be held sooner or later. The Union would've soon broken up if the Articles of Confederation was not amended or replaced. The delegates that attended were, George Washington, James Madison and Benjamin Franklin.
