The best thing to do in your senior year of High School is to take time out and look for a good and professional career. There are many options throughout life. For example, Dentist, Mechanical engineering, Doctor, Physical Therapist, Fire Fighter, and more. All careers require and have a different purpose, which will help our world. The career that I am pursuing is The City of Miami Fire Rescue. Firefighters are trained to extinguish and control fires when properties, lives, or the environment is in danger. At the scene of an emergency, firefighters perform tasks assigned by their commanding officer. Depending on the situation, they may need to provide medical attention, break through debris, operate fire hoses, or enter a burning building.
According to the site of information about the firefighters "Firefighters are involved in fire elimination operations. However, this is only one demeanor of the job. The Olympia Fire Department also provides Emergency Medical Service (EMS). Eighty percent of the calls firefighters respond to care for emergency Medical Care. For example, the calls are usually motor vehicle accidents, heart attacks, strokes, home accidents, and other medical and trauma related incidents”. Here are some of the responsibilities and duties on being a firefighter from the fire rescue in Charlottesville; General Definition of Work “The firefighter performs responsible service work in fire profession and prevention; does related work as required. Work is performed under the supervision of a company and/or shift commander.” Typical Tasks “Responds to alarms, drives and operates equipment and related apparatus and assists in the suppression of fires, including rescue, advancing lines, entry, ventilation and salvage work, extrication and emergency medical care of victims. Performs cleanup and overhaul work, establishes temporary utility services. Assists in maintaining and repairing fire apparatus and equipment, and cleaning fire stations and grounds.” Checks fire hydrant flows “Makes fire code inspections of business establishments and prepares pre-fire plans. Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls, pumps out basements, inspects for gas leaks, secures vehicle accidents, inspects chimneys, etc.
