The video, “Whitney Plantation Slavery Museum”, was very interesting. This video gave a lot of information on slaves and what went on during the slave trade. One thing that was very interesting is that female slaves did not own their bodies; their bodies were property of their owners, and there even was a “fancy trade”, which in other words is the selling of sex slaves. Another thing that was very interesting is that when purchasing a female slave, they would consider her reproductive potential and her ability to make them money based off of her ability to have many children. Something that was shocking is that for a long time in Louisiana it was illegal to sell children away from their parents before they had reached puberty. It is surprising
