He led a very powerful army in the words of his God, he took over an empire and killed the great Moctezuma. He was a manipulator and a warrior, who should be remembered for his skills in battle and his smarts to convince people.
Cortes was very wise, he had brought in new weapons such as guns, cannons, and horses to defeat the Aztec empire and take control over Tenochtitlan. Firstly, when Cortes first arrived on the land of Tenochtitlan, Moctezuma was unsure if he was the god Quetzalcoatl, and he decided to play along and for the next 6 months, around 1519, Cortes remained in Tenochtitlan, however, the tensions between the Aztec and the Spanish were growing much stronger, the Aztec were questioning whether Moctezuma had made the right choice to let Cortes and his fellow men in or not. …show more content…
