To begin with, in this film, Ellen Page generally uses a comedic and slightly realistic acting style to bring life to her character Juno MacGuff. Throughout the progression of the film, Page is constantly in motion, vary rarely can she been seen in stasis. In very few scenes, through the use of body language you can feel Juno’s minimal attachment to her baby. Although Juno herself recognizes that she is not prepared to take care of her baby, you can feel the bond she has with her child as seen in scenes such as when she’s crying on the side of the road in her van. In that scene, Juno is seen crying and rubbing her belly multiple times. This is a way for her to express to her unborn baby, that she will protect him and make the best decision for his future. Similarly, Page’s body language is an exceptional medium in terms of expressing a wide range of emotions, such as the uneasiness and anxiety in scenes involving big decisions about Juno’s pregnancy and her baby’s future. One significant scene where this is displayed, is when Juno is about to tell her parents she’s pregnant.
