The book the last of the Mohicans is about two young ladies ,Cora and Alice , whom were the daughters of the commander of the british army colonel Munro. The two daughters wanted to see their father , so they preceded to a journey to see him. The two girls were accompanied by major Duncan Heyward and an indian named Magua. On their way to see their father they were joined by a calvinist named David Gamut . the group later encounters the white scout Natty Bumppo, who goes by the name Hawkeye, and his two Indian companions, Chingachgook and Uncas, Chingachgook’s son, the only surviving members of the once great Mohican tribe. Hawkeye tells the group that magua , who was a huron, has betrayed the group by leading them in the wrong direction . the mohicans try to capture magua but he escapes .…show more content… The Huron reveals that he seeks revenge on Munro for past humiliation and proposes to free Alice if Cora will marry him , but cora has intimate feelings for uncas . Suddenly Hawkeye and the Mohicans burst onto the scene, rescuing the captives and killing every Huron but Magua, who escapes. This however is not the end of it the girls get to see their father but are kidnaped by magua but hawkeye comes to rescue them. Ha saves alice but cora gets stabbed and as uncas tried to kill the huron that killed cora magua stabs him in the back . as magua tried to escape he jumps over a great divide but is barely hanging o bt a tumble weed ad hawkeye shoots him in the back . cora and uncas get a proper burial with tribal
