When his father found out that he was very talented he envisioned creating a new Mozart, a child prodigy. On March 26th 1778, Beethoven gave his first performance in Cologne. His father announced that he was 6 years-old. Because of this Beethoven always thought that he was younger than he actually was. His father was just drunk and did not know old he actually was. The music and teaching of his father were limited. Soon he learned music, notably the organ and composition by renowned musician Gottlob Neefe. Neefe recognized how out of this world talented Beethoven and not only did Neefe teach him music, but he made the philosophers known to him as well.
