In the book Scat, by Carl Hiaasen, is a book about a scary and a strict teacher named Mrs.starch goes missing on a field trip to a wildlife preserve where a a fire had started. But turns out that she was actually on a mission to helping a man named Twilly unite a baby panther with its mother. Scat is also about a company named Red Diamond Energy Cooperation ( RDEC) who were trying to do a illegal drilling sight for oil, but were eventually caught. Setting aside RDEC and Mrs.Starch Carl Hiaasen is trying to convince us that if you lie you will first be in check and then checkmate.
The first example that Carl Hiaasen is showing us in the book is where a man named Twilly glues Melton, an Employ of RDEC, to a tree and steels oil pipes. (pg 122).
