Sogolon Conde had the first-born son of Nare Famagan Cenyi, however a handmaiden was late delivering the news and another bride of Nare’s had a son who was awarded the status of first-born instead. Sogolon’s son, Sunjata, grew to become a great hunter and was seen as a threat to the first-born. Sunjata returned to Narena and fought for rule of his homeland but Sumanguru’s sorcery was a hindrance. Sunjata’s sister used seduction to find out Sumanguru’s weakness and Sunjata used this knowledge to defeat Sumanguru and gain his homeland back.
