First, Odysseus returned home after twenty years and disguised himself to execute a plan. However, when Odysseus saw his dog while with his servant, “…the man looked away, / wiping a salt tear from his cheek; but he / hid this from Eumaeus.” (Page 932, line 1053-1055).
