In Romeo and Juliet I think that the two deaths, and more, were Mercutio’s fault. My first reason for this accusation is because if Mercutio hadn’t been so stubborn and angered Tybalt like it says, “O calm, dishonourable, vile submission! Alla stoccata carries it away. Tybalt, you rat-catcher will you walk?”(3.1.74-76) he would never have had been killed. They find out he died when Benvolio comes back into the scene,”O Romeo, Romeo, brave Mercutio’s dead...”(3.1.121)which Romeo replies with,”Either thou, or I, or both, must go with him...”(3.1.134) wouldn’t have led to Romeo killing Tybalt like prince says,”Romeo slew him, he slew Mercutio;who now the price of his dear blood doth owe?”(3.1.191-192)
