Canada was wrong to introduce prohibition, but it was necessary for the government to learn, and to set us up for what we have today. Alcohol consumption was a huge problem for Canada in the 1910’s, and prohibition was the first step in trying to get men to not drink as much alcohol. Even though prohibition did not work for the intended purpose, it was the leading step for Canada to have the restrictions we have today. Why Canada was wrong to introduce prohibition because it led to increased illegal activities, increased drinking in some cities and claims of violation of culture.
