Communism was basically a threat to them which caused people to get blacklisted. The climate of fear and repression linked to the Red Scare finally began to ease by the late 1950s.The Red Scare led to a range of actions that had a profound and enduring effect on U.S. government. During the red scare people were brought for questioning that determined whether they supported communism or not and some were unfortunate. Those that were unfortunate lost their jobs and other important things they needed in their life.The downfall of the Salem Witch Trials, in The Crucible, and the Red Scare was when the accusers were pointing their fingers at people who weren’t enemies. In The Crucible the Puritans accsued people of things that wasnt true. During the Red Scare, people didnt believe McCarthy’s accussations when he accused the allies.
