Why Did George Kill Lennie's Death

George made the right decision by killing Lennie. His death was inevitable due to his murder of Curley’s wife. If George hadn’t killed him, Curley would eventually do it himself. Lennie would have suffered under the cruel and vengeful hands of Curley. Lennie himself was a danger to society, no matter how nice of person he is most of the time. Killing one for a whole group is better than endangering the majority of the population. His death was more for his benefit than it was for George. Eventually Lennie moved on to a better existence.

George saved Lennie from a horrible and painful demise. He did his best to make sure he died contently. Curley’s rage would have not allowed him a tranquil death and George provided him that. He figured Lennie deserved something better than a barbaric death for he did not know his actions. George figured Lennie would end up in a reality where he would be a able to pet all the rabbits and other animals Lennie wanted. He was not only shifting the burden off his shoulders, but also off Lennie as well. He got Lennie to imagine what his haven would seem like before his death, which makes lennie think that is where he would end up someday. George

George decided to choose what he thought was best for Lennie, what was best for all. Nothing can entirely justify murder, but it’s not always black and white. George had to kill Lennie because in the end he would have died a horrible death otherwise. It’s not always about choosing what is right, but choosing the most correct option left for you. Life doesn’t always give people a whole stack of options to choose from and people find ways to hopefully choose the best one. George knew that even if he didn’t want to kill Lennie, he had to change his fate by killing him himself. In the end Slim told reassured George and said “Never you mind. A guy got to sometimes.” George had no choice but to pick the lesser of the two
