To begin with, the main reason on why Islam spread so fast was the treaties, taxes, and toleration. “They will not be Coerced in matters of religion...as long as he remains sincere and fulfills these conditions that we have set for him:... He and [each of] his men shall [also] pay one dinar every year, together with four measures of wheat, four measures of barley, four liquid measures of concentrated fruit juice, four liquid measures of vinegar, four of honey, and four of olive oil.” (Doc C: Treaty of Tudmir) This supports my reasoning because people are able to keep their religion if they wanted too, but they would have to pay these “taxes”. If the people would not be able to pay these taxes or wanted to save items, they would switch to Islam. “First it was at the crossroads of the lucrative (profitable) caravan trade… Adding to the profits from caravan was a busy pilgrimage trade, for Mecca wa the site of Arabia’s holiest religious shrine, the Ka’aba.” (Doc A: Merchant Trade Routes) This quote supports my claim because it shows that if their were busy trades route going right through Arabia, they would get more people to come to Arabia and would allow more people to hear about this religion. Many people on trade routes also traded religion, not just items too. This quote is reliable because it was written by historians and was approved by the
