The United States exports oil to the Japanese. In which the Japanese relied heavy on the United States to give them oil without it there navy can not operate, so they decided to attack on the fact that the United States cut off their exports to the Japanese (Pearl Harbor) . Another reason they might have attacked is because the empire of Japan was trying to expand so they were trying to take over as much of Asia as possible, but the United States navy was in the way they were in Hawaii. The Japanese did alot of damage to the navy, they damaged many warships,cruisers,destroyers, the Japanese also destroyed fighter planes and other aircrafts along with landing pads. All of the USS ships were destroyed, but 3 were able to recover one major USS ship that sank was the USS Arizona and over 1000 sailors died with the sinking of this ship (World War 11). After the attack many U.S. battleships were destroyed like the USS Arizona,USS Oklahoma,USS California,USS West Virginia,USS Utah,USS Maryland,USS Nevada. The attack damaged 20 ships and aircrafts. Docks and airfields were also destroyed. About 3000 civilians and soldiers were either wounded or killed after the attack (History.com
