Why Did Sergey Brin Became A Russian

Sergey Brin was born on August 21, 1973, in Moscow, Russia. When Brin was only six years old him and his family emigrated to the United States because they had to escape from the Jewish persecution in 1979.

Brin has a mother and father (Eugenia and Michael Brin). Michael Brin believed that many universities would exclude Jews from the physics departments so he deiced to major in mathematics which he got A’s in and how he struggled throughout school because he’s a Jew.
The Brin family lived in a three-room apartment in central Moscow which they also shared with Sergey's paternal grandmother. In 1977, Michael Brin told that his family that they have to emigrate to the United States. However, Sergey's mother didn’t want to leave their home in Moscow because they had spent their entire lives. The family struggled a lot when they decided to apply for an exit visa in September 1978 because his father and mother lost their jobs and had to get temporary jobs. They were scared that they were going to get denied for leaving the country. Both parents had to look after Sergey and his father taught him computer programming. They finally received their visas in May 1979 to leave the country, Brin said that it was hard to leave Moscow but he is very thankful for coming to the Sates.

Brin roommate on this trip was the future CMU computer science professor John Stamper. Later Brin attended elementary school at Paint Branch Montessori School in Maryland, however he also received a lot of home teaching from his father who became a professor of mathematics in the University of
