Why Do Gym Employees Use Steroid?

Most jobs require some type of background check on individuals they hire, but how much information is too much? How do tests and checks affect people who work, are not athletes and lead normal lives? Tests and checks are taken on the applicant so the company knows more about the individual who is applying. Sports companies use these tests to know how a player will play on the field based on their act off the field. However, in a majority of people's lives, behavior does not have the same effect on their field of work. So should employers really know what gym employees go to or steroids the individuals use? Information should change between jobs however, employers should only have knowledge that pertains to the employees type of work.

Many jobs require background checks or steroid tests, however, a place where it is more prevalent and checked more often than anywhere is in sports. And although many of these tests help regulate the game to be fair others think not. For example, a writer claims that “... if baseball stars like Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds use steroids, I don’t need to know” (3).
