Why Do Juvenile Killers Deserve Life Behind Bars?

In 2012, the U.S. Supreme Court held 79 juveniles who will unfortunately die in prison. Juveniles should not be tried as adults when committing a crime. As it was seen with multiple examples, juveniles learn from mistakes. For example, in the article “Do Juvenile Killers Deserve Life Behind Bars?” paragraph 16 talks about 16-year-old Scott Filippi. Where it states that Scott had shot his mother but then later after his release joined the Army and became a member of the Presidential Honor Guard, considering one of many righteous rehabilitation cases it is obvious that something changed throughout Scott and he changed for the better. With multiple other examples showing how rehabilitation is possible, is it worth putting juveniles in prisons
