In Ontario, it is mandatory for student to receive a measles vaccine. My opinion is that it should not be mandatory for students to be forced to receive a vaccine or otherwise face suspension. Most parents of children would already get the vaccine for their kids, so it is not a major health risk if a small portion doesn’t. If anyone is worried about their children contracting measles, they should get the vaccine for their kids. If for some reason someone doesn’t want to get it, they should be prepared to face the consequences. The fact that it is “mandatory” is a little bit too far. School boards should of course strongly recommend the vaccine to parents, but they should not be able to force drugs into the bodies of people. The affect it has on public is very little. This is because here in Canada we have a very good health care system, if anyone of to become infected, it would be dealt with very fast and the risk of serious injury or death is very little.
