Are School Lunches a Lost Cause
When it comes to school lunches, many people have their opinions on it. Whether that if it is good or not and also on if it is good to eat. Since Michelle Obama created the National School Lunch Program back in 2010’ school lunches have been changing over the past decade. They've been cutting out the fat, unhealthy food and in exchange have provided more fruits and vegetables and instead of half grain they switched to whole grain. There has been many discussions on the school lunches on whether or not it was worth the change, Also on how the students reacted to the change. Overall within the last 10 years school lunches have started to gradually change. They have become healthier, in order to reduce obesity. Due to the change in school lunches, some schools have even lost hundreds of dollars.

Michelle wanted to reduce obesity statistics in students. As of 2009 children who participated in the National School Lunch Program, found that there were actually gaining weight instead. Over the past 30 years obesity in children have more than doubled and in adolescents it has quadrupled. In recent years RWJF has made major investments in order to help reverse the obesity epidemic. He has donated fifty million dollars to programs to help reduce obesity. Some statics even say that the current generation of young people may be the in american history to live shorter, less healthier lives than their parents did. Obesity has become one of the biggest health care cost drivers in America. In today's society 30% of adults are currently considered obese.In 2012, 17% of obesity in young childrem dropped as well as children in low income families. But in September 2015 rates of has gone up to 35% in three
