After a crazy few hours, Cassio realizes that he has been drinking and acting quite rashly. He communicates about how easily he gets drunk to Iago, and then afterward also talks to Iago about how bad drinking is. While Cassio believes that Iago is being a caring friend, he fails to remember that Iago was the one to get him drinking more than he was comfortable will. Iago used Cassio’s weakness of getting drunk very easily to his advantage. By getting Cassio to drink a few glasses of wine, Iago followed through with the first few steps of his plan.
