1.Three sets of sons want revenge but they all three try to get revenge in different ways. Laertes wants to get revenge on Hamlet for killing his dad, Polonius. Not only did his dad die, but Polonius’ death made Ophelia go crazy. She fell in a pond and was too crazy to try to save herself so she just started singing and died. This makes Laertes want revenge even more. He immediately acts out of anger on the revenge he wants. He doesn’t stop and think about what he’s doing. He brought poison when he returned to get revenge. He plans with King Claudius to kill Hamlet. They will poison the tip of a sword in a fencing match and Laertes will stab Hamlet and also put the poison in …show more content…
He tells Hamlet the apology doesn’t matter to him because he still has a dead dad. The queen ends up drinking the poisoned wine for Hamlet without knowing and the Queen dies. Hamlet does get stabbed with the poisoned sword like Laertes wanted but during the match, Hamlet and Laertes accidentally switch swords and Hamlet stabs Laertes with the poisoned sword. Laertes realizes he has just been killed by his own sword. Laertes never took the time to think about the chances of getting killed with his own sword was. Hamlet also uses the poison Laertes brought to kill King Claudius. Laertes got his revenge, but many people died during the fencing match, including himself. Hamlet’s dad died from Hamlet’s uncle, Claudius, pouring poison in his ear. Hamlet’s mom married Claudius very soon after the death of King Hamlet. Hamlet doesn’t think it’s fair that his father’s killer gets to be the king now. He promised the Ghost of King Hamlet that he would get revenge. Hamlet made Claudius watch a play similar to their situation to make him feel guilty. He had many opportunities to kill Claudius but he waited every time. Hamlet wanted to make sure Claudius went to hell so he
