One story we came across was about this blue crab who was being hunted by an osprey bird. The bird had almost got her a few times, but she escaped using wisdom and logic. The story has more to it but the moral was about how outsmarting your opponents can be better than fighting, in the blue crab’s case, it was not strong enough to fight off the osprey but indeed had to outsmart it. Even though it's been a few years since I last thought of this story, I still use the moral quite often. Living so close to Washington DC has also shaped my identity by exposing me to a lot of government stuff, and especially, the Smithsonian museums. This is because, in school, we used to go on field trips to them at least once a year. These field trips helped to make me want to learn and see that learning is fun, which then led me to wanting to be in IB. The third and final aspect of Maryland that shaped my identity is the sports teams. Even though I don't follow them closely, I still enjoy the community it brings and how I have shared interests with the people I've met through cheating on these sports
