In 1866 Edmund G. Ross was a new senator from Kansas, and by 1868 he had become one of the most hated men. Edmund Ross had a major role in the impeachment of Andrew Johnson, he was pestered by his fellow Republican party members, and made a decision that changed the United States history. When Ross came in to Senate, bills were constantly getting vetoed by the president because they were thought to be unconstitutional.
