Being the girlfriend of a football player who got hurt, I have been through this and I have my own opinion about it. During the first home game this year, and also his first varsity game, my boyfriend got leg whipped and basically broke his shin. It was cracked all the way up to his tibia. After he got hurt, he could not do anything for himself. He was in a cast, on crutches and could barely move it without screaming in pain. Time after time he would ask his parents to bring him something, it being food, a drink, or medicine. You name it, he was probably asking one of his parents to bring it to him. Also, not only was he missing school days over and over again, his parents had to miss a few days of work to help take care of him, so that obviously affects them. But, thanks to medicine and time, he is getting better by the day. The only thing is, this long healing process took over a month, and he is still not officially healed. Retaining all these facts introduces a huge question: Should football continue to be played? In my own opinion, I feel as though if I told football players around the world the statistics that I have found, they could care less. Like I have said prior, players do not care how dangerous it becomes, it is the fact that they want to do the thing they love most in the world, and that is playing
