George Eastman was born on the 12th of July 1854 in Waterville New York. He was a school dropout who worked in an office at 14 and had an interest in photography, however stayed working in the bank until his business kicked off. By 1927, Eastman Kodak was the largest US company in the photography industry. He then later committed suicide in 1932, after getting too sick and weak to continue.
Wet plate photography is where soluble iodide is added to a solution of collodion and coated on a glass plate, then was taken to the makeshift dark room to be immersed in a solution. The plate is then exposed in the camera, still wet. Immediate developing and fixing were necessary because after the film had dried the film became waterproof
