It was the middle of October and the tree leaves were changing as fall was in the air. It was a Friday afternoon and children were heading home on their school buses, excited about the weekend ahead. The most excited of all was Kirsten because it was her birthday and all her dearest friends were headed to her house to celebrate for the night. October is always a remarkable month for Kirsten.
Kirsten had planned for months in advance for this very day; she was going to take her friends to a haunted site in her town. Once all her friends were at her house she explained the details of her birthday trip. Some were a little skeptical about the site being haunted; however others could hardly wait to go. Kirsten had made arrangements for all her friends and her to go to the haunted site by the train track.…show more content… Before she started revealing the story, she turned out all the lights except the small flickering light in the family room. She stated that about fifty years ago a young man was walking down the railroad track with a lantern in his hand. He was trying to get home to his family before the freezing rain came, but about two minutes before he got home he was hit and killed by a fast moving train. He was hit so hard that it decapitated him. Kirsten told her friends that late at night you can sit in your car and see the faint glimpse of a light swaying back and forth down the road. The longer you sit in your car the closer the light will appear. She told them it was the young man searching for his head by the train tracks.
