I am reading Hollow City by Ransom Riggs, and I am on page 127. This book is the second novel of Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children. In this book the ten peculiar children are fleeing from and army of deadly monsters. There loop has closed and Miss Peregrine is stuck in the body of a bird. The children are traveling to London, the peculiar capital of the world to try and find Miss Peregrine a cure. There is only a matter of time before she is permanently in bird form and they are faced with hideous surprises around every corner. One of the peculiar children Claire, is terribly sick and is forced to stay back on the island. There are many reasons why the children will make it to London,and why they will not. “Emma looked at me. ‘What do you think, should we hitch a ride?’ I looked at the wagons. Looked back at Emma. Thought about how my feet would feel after a six-hour walk in still-wet shoes. ‘Absolutely’ I said (Riggs 121).” While the children were on their journey to London, they came upon a wagon of Gypsies and hitched a ride. The ride was a great benefit to the children, because they cut time off of their journey. The ride from the gypsies is a major reason on why they could make it to London in time.
