Have you ever came to school and felt tired? If your answer was yes then you’re probably half asleep and don’t want to read this paper. But, the whole point of this paper is to persuade you that napping should be allowed in school. I hope this makes you feel better. If you remember your kindergarten days then you probably remember taking naps. So why can’t we take naps now? According to Tes.com “napping offers benefits such as increased productivity, improved memory, it is overall great for learning”. Even the business world is offering the benefits to napping to their employees. Some businesses are even building “sleep pods” for their employees.Some high schools in New Mexico are installing the sleep pods for their students. The National Institutes of Health states that teens should get 9 to 10 hours of sleep. But, only a third of teens are sleeping even 8 hours. Did you know anything on that test? If you said yes you’re probably lying but if you said no, have you ever compare yourself when your filled with energy and when your drowsy and fatigued? If schools applied sleep pod that would be cool and have a lot of benefits. As Summers said, students wouldn’t be paying attention or listening. This habit of not getting enough sleep eventually lead to failing grades. If you were able to take a nap before a test then there would be a higher chance of getting a good grade on it. Researchers from Ghent and KU Leuven universities in Belgium surveyed students first-year university students about their sleeping habits during exam period. Their results were quite simple. The students who got more sleep got better scores than the students who got less sleep. So if the schools installed the sleep pods and scheduled napping time then students will have better test scores which equals better
