I agree with McCormick when he states that “monsters are made, not born, and that they are fashioned out of our inability to accept our own limits and care for others.” In some cases, when a child is not shown love from their family or friends, they tend to search for love when they get older and end up in bad places that sometimes transform these people into a representation of the love lacking from their childhood. When they commit crimes or hurt people, some individuals may see them as monsters. However, they were not born to cause pain; they developed a hatred or fear that turned their pain into the pain of others. In examples such as the Hunchback of York or Frankenstein’s
