The seating was arranged in a proscenium manner. There were only about 5 rows and they each sat approximately 10 people. The room was not a black box but in order to darken the room they used long black drapes to try to hide the white walls. My first thought when I sat down and began observing the stage was how open it was and how nothing was obstructing my view.

For example, the employees at the waffle house had uniforms and actual waffle house badges. The costumes were not flashy or out of place and looked like actual clothing the characters would wear. The costume designer, Eduardo Arizpe, aced the costumes for the show.
The sound effects were a nice touch to the show’s design. I liked that they used accurate sound files for the iphone and the diner phone. However, the way the sounds were chosen to be projected could have been better. The sounds were projected via a speaker in front of the audience. I think it would have been better if the sounds were played via the source of the object. Other than the location of the speakers the sound effect the sound designer, Gage Baker, did a good job.
The director, Dr. Robert Shimko, did an exceptional job at casting the characters and blocking the movements as well as making the play cohesive. All the actors’ movements were clear and had a purpose. The actors chosen were all unique and gave a very diverse feel to the play. The actors of beth and molly contrasted each other and helped emphasize their differences. The language of the play was modern, and I did not feel like I was missing out on any information. However, there were points in the play where I thought a swear word was unnecessary and didn’t add any emotional value or
