In order to help others out, a person may donate a few dollars to a charity, but Willard Carroll Smith Jr. took that idea to the next level. In 2007 alone, Will and his wife, Jada, donated $1.3 million dollars to charities (“Will Smith Gives $1.3 Million to Charities”). Smith is an incredibly generous person. Born in 1968, Smith is now 49 years old (“Will Smith”). Over his years of life he has truly involved himself in the community. Smith had been a rapper, tv star, and movie sensation, some of his movies and shows include, Bad Boys and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Aside from his hollywood fame, Smith has also contributed to 17 charities (“Will Smith: Charity Work and Causes”). The goal is to, “benefit inner-city community development, youth educational projects and underprivileged children and their families” (Will Smith: Charity Work and Causes”). This allows them to truly soar and benefit. This includes the AIDS benefit concert, CIE and simply spending his time and money with children in Africa. He makes time in his busy, famous life to help the ones that need him most. Mr. Smith was also a part of the Make A Wish Foundation, a program to allow sick patients, who have a life-threatening condition, meet their idols. When Adam talked with the foundation about Will Smith, he said, “He makes me laugh so much and I find him really interesting” (“Sinclair, Kyle”). Smith is being so uplifting to Andy and countless other children by providing these movies and shows to raise their spirits. He gives back to others by making their life more interesting and fun. Without him the world might not have the same spark.
