The Gallantry of a Hero Everyone wants to be or claim to be a hero. It takes those certain qualities for one to possess in order to be a “hero”. A hero does not have to necessarily be superman or spider man, but could be Beowulf, doctors, my mother, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and some others all considered heroes in my eyes. Those cartoon characters that we all knew growing were our heroes. We didn’t think it was possible for humans to be heroes. As we got older, we realized that a cape is not what defines a hero, but the qualities that he or she possesses. A modern hero should possess the qualities of determination, patience, courage, dedication, strength, understanding, confidence, and capability. According to Google, a hero is a person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. She possesses many qualities of a hero and has showed heroic behavior. There was a fictional character by the name of William Lewis. Lewis was a man with many pathological problems. He was a serial rapist, serial killer, serial kidnaper, spree rapist, and a spree killer. Lewis was a very dangerous man; however, none of his disrespectfulness feared Lt. Olivia Benson. Benson went after Lewis with no hesitation. She was determined to put this animal six feet under. Lt. Benson went through being raped, held hostage, forced to drink, and many other horrors with Lewis; but that did not stop her fight. Finally, the Lieutenant captured this barbarous man and he was put away. Months later, this vicious man escaped from prison and tried to come after Benson and her family. Lieutenant Benson and Williams Lewis came across one another once again, but this time it led to Lieutenant Benson shooting Williams Lewis in the
