The American dream means different things to different people. According to William Zinesser’s “ The Right to Fail” the American dream is getting ahead of everyone else. He feels that the American dream is having our own say in if we fail or succeed. Zinesser also thinks that TV commercials and ads play a big role in material successes. I agree with Zinesser. I feel that society shouldn’t be able to determine or dictate how we choose to live our lives.
The American dream to me is being the best and doing the best I can. It is having my parents and America stand behind me in my failures and success. Zinsser states in “The Right to Fail” that failure is not fatal. And that lots of people have failed a countless number of times and have came
