Popular icons and idols have a way of influencing people in society. Actors and singers have been known to start trends among the U.S. population with their fashion statements and personal tastes.
Willie Nelson was born in Abbott, Texas in 1933. Nelson is most famous for singing and writing country music, although he wrote other genres as well, including jazz and gospel. Nelson began playing guitar at age 6 and played in bars and local dance clubs in his teenage years.
