The two types of surgeries used are Partial Nephrectomy and Radical Nephrectomy. Partial Nephrectomy is when the surgeon will remove the tumor and surrounding the tumor parts of the tissue that’s healthy and they’ll leave as much kidney as possible. Radical Nephrectomy is when the surgeon removes the entire kidney and some of the tissue surrounding the kidney. Another way of treatment is by doing Chemotherapy, which is using drugs and being able to wipe out the cancer cells and being able to slow down the cancer cells from dividing. Ninety percent of children are getting treated due to surgery, chemotherapy and even radiation therapy. Although the Wilms tumor cannot be prevented, it can be treated if caught early
