On Tuesday, Febrauray 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at the Winspear Perfomance Hall in the Murchison Performing Arts Center. The Wind Symphony Orchestra conducted by Eugene Migliaro Corporon performed four different pieces by three different composer. I was very excited to attend the concert because I had to attend a wind symphony concert during the past fall semester for the MUMH 3020 course and really enjoyed the experience I had attending so I was expecting this one to be just as good.
Eugene Migiliaro Corporon opened with a short piece from composer John Mackey called Sasparilla which turned out to be one of my favorite pieces of the night. It’s really a great piece that I recommend anyone to listen to and you will become an instant fan. I kind of had one of those good Disney films soundtrack that could be played for a Jungle Book or Lion King type of movie with a lot of action within the wilderness and also has some comedic textures between the brass and winds.

This piece starts to play quickly in a dramatic fashion all while still keeping consonance with the movement. The entire ensemble starts playing in unison together. The instruments moved from one note to the next and the dynamics of the piece started to climax using a high pitched meter before it gradually slows down. Then picks back up again using loud accents and then descending again now creating a pattern in the piece kind of like different battle scenes during a war play or movie. This piece evoked an emotional element of me feeling like your somehow apart of the show by grabbing your attention and holding it there through the ups and downs of the chords being
