You need to be realistic about this matter. If it's only a few millimetres and it's barely got any depth, then probably you shouldn't bother about it. Windscreens can survive with many chips of that kind. When it goes deeper though, you might have a reason to worry. Pressure, cold and heat can further damage the glass.
