Ever wonder what it was like way back when there were witch hunts? It's probably worse than what you assume that it was. The Crucible was about a town back in the 19th century, where witch hunts were taken seriously; if anything superstitious happened around you, you would be considered a witch. The author, Arthur Miller, makes a tremendous detailed story about what it was like during witch hunts in a modest town.
John Proctor is one of the various characters in The Crucible; who was angry at himself for screwing up, and also at Abigail, for she thinks that they both truly love each other (Cruc.
