Introduction
Witnessing Ariel growing up has been an exciting journey for both her father and me. I must say, it has not been easy being a mother to such a beautiful and talented girl. Her father and I both hoped that she would continue to love learning and become more social and she did. She made many changes in the past several years, which have shown great improvements in many different areas. She still loves to play with her little sister, Rayann. They loved to play fantasy games or construction projects together a few years ago when they were younger. Since Ariel started to participate in more activities, my weekly schedule consists of soccer practices, games, drives to after-school programs, field trips to science museums, and going to the library. Her peers at school adores her very much and she manages to make friends easily.

She enjoys reading and her oral reading, decoding, reading comprehension, spelling, and writing skills are all beyond her grade level. I continued to encourage her reading interest by providing commendations and supportive feedbacks for all of her efforts. Since Ariel’s favorite subject is science, she enjoys attending the after-school science camps. To support her interest in science, I find interesting science shows on TV or at the video store, and check out interesting books at the library for her. Ariel has been beyond her grade level in math for some time now. She was taking sixth grade math in the fifth grade. She had no problem with completing her homework and easily comprehended everything right on the tests. Even though Ariel excelled in math, she continued to express more interest in science. In the seventh grade, I started to notice that her level of confidence in math and language arts started to decline. I wanted to help her find the motivation to do well, so I joined her on a debate team and a math contest at her
