Why did Wolff make his characters awful people? The author of the story “Hunters in the Snow” created three distinct characters, all with flaws and some of the characters hid their true faults from the rest. Frank and Tub hid their true problems from each other and Kenny because they are afraid of what will be said to them. Kenny does not have a hidden flaw, he is a straight-forward kind of guy.
