For these reasons, some may argue that Auggie got bullied and teased, or maybe they would say that this experience destroyed his self confidence and made him depressed. Either way, some may say that it was a terrible idea for Auggie's parents to enroll him into Beecher. After all, August did mention that he felt like certain situations were "like the Cheese Touch in Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The kids in that story were afraid they'd catch … cooties if they touched the moldy cheese on the basketball court. At Beecher Prep, [he believed he was] the moldy cheese." (72) If those who argue against Auggie going to school were to fast forward a couple of months to Auggie's fifth grade graduation, they would notice that everybody wanted to be next to Auggie while the families were taking pictures. Auggie said that "it felt like everyone wanted to get close" (308) So, in actuality, everything turned out to be great. As stated before, Auggie Pullman was a ten-year-old boy born with a condition that caused his face to be disfigured. Auggie went through a lot and, at first, was treated differently and with disrespect. He pushed through the hate and soon became a very successful fifth grader. Since Auggie's parents said yes to letting him attend school, many great things came out of
