Visualize encountering a certain individual who had “an inherited condition in which some bones and tissues in the face aren't developed” otherwise known as Mandibulofacial dysostosis (Mandibulofacial). Specifically, in the novel known as Wonder , Raquel J. Palacio, who is the novelist establishes a character, Jack, who happened to initiate a friendship with August, who as aforementioned is the individual who obtained that certain condition. Despite the fact that Jack is not the main character, he portrays a critical part in the novel(Wonder).
To begin with, Jack was somewhat required to establish a friendship with August due to the fact that August was the new kid with the condition. As a result of school initiates, August starts…show more content… As a result of discovering the explanation, Jack feels miserable, regretful, and even felt “like he was going to puke”(Palacio 152). Shortly after in science class Ms. Rubin was assigning partners for a science-fair project, in which Jack and August were arranged to be partners. Keep in mind that a ton of students are aware of the fact that Jack and August are not friends any longer, specifically Julian, the student who is persistent with bullying August. Providing that background information, immediately after class Julian persaudes Ms. Rubin to “switch partners because Jack and him had this science-fair project idea we wanted to work on together”. After Ms. Rubin accepts the offer, Jack instantly states “No, it’s okay”. At this point Julian is curious as to why Jack declined the offer, in which he goes on stating, “Why’d you do that ? We could have been partners. You don’t have to be friends with that freak if you don’t want to be, you know”.That being said it triggered Jack ,causing him to “punch him. Right in the mouth”(Palacio 154).
As aforementioned, Jack had some extreme character developments, Firstly, not caring about August, secondly feeling horrible after the termination of their friendship, and lastly, hitting Julian due to the fact he was making fun of his friend.
