Words Create Deeper Wounds The adage, “A picture is worth a thousand words” comes to mind when viewing the disturbing image, Fist. Although words don’t physically hurt someone, they can still cause as much if not more emotional damage to the person they were directed at. The image actually reflects much more information, upon reviewing it after extensive research. Verbal abuse is damaging emotionally and in many instances leads to physical abuse as well. Although women are displayed as the victims most of the time, men and children also are victims. Bullying is also a form of verbal abuse. Verbal abuse often culminates in physical abuse and causes pain emotionally and sometimes physically. The article “What is Verbal Abuse” by Kelly Holly describes verbal abuse as, “any language or behavior that seeks to coerce its victim to doubt their perceptions or their abilities and subjugate themselves to the abuser.” People get verbally abused in all kinds of situations. The information found was biased in that all articles researched signified that verbal abuse was connected to domestic violence. These articles revealed that a majority of verbally abused individuals end up getting physically abused as well. Verbal abuse does take different forms,
