With the presence of war, many were able to find jobs without trouble, opening them to more opportunities than they had ever experienced in The United States. African-American Women enjoyed the luxury of finding “...jobs other than as domestic servants and farm laborers” (Document 1). Furthermore, the government improved life amongst many African-Americans by issuing orders such as Executive Order 8802 which banned “...discrimination in all government agencies, job training programs, and companies doing business with the federal government” (Document 1). With the assistance of the government and a great development in civil rights, many African-Americans enjoyed life in America as the war took place. These laws also established programs such as the Fair Employment Practices Commision, which further improved the treatment of African-Americans. Although life eventually regressed to the way it once was upon the return of American soldiers, African-Americans made a permanent footprint in history during this period and appreciated their civil
