The United States was on the winning side of both World Wars, exited the 20th century with undisputedly the best economy in the world, and is a story of a wildly successful democracy. However, in the process of all the events of the 20th century, Americans’ lives changed dramatically. The wars that the United States fought in the 20th century, changes in technology and social dynamics, and the lives lost in these conflicts transformed American life dramatically, as well as the dynamic of how Americans view the federal government today.
