Inedible Accomplishment In my parent’s room resting on the hard, emerald colored, carpet floor, a well-polished nickel lays beside my body. Which was no taller than a wooden, school desk. The sparkling of the silver caught my eye. No one is around to take this change away from me. I search for more but this is the only coin around. I place the metal worth five cents into my fragile hands. I start to flip the coin. Then I roll it. I toss it up and down. I watched as it elevated more in the air. I thought this is beyond boredom and I need much more excitement. Wondering if this coin can be caught by anything other than the palm of my pale hand, I opened my mouth. Attempt one, failed. Attempt two, failed. I have to get this! I just know I will be extremely awesome if this is done. Yes! The coin has been captured but suddenly a thunderous thump is heard. Something falls and I jump. Coughing has occurred. Saliva begins to form more and more rapidly, I swallow. The coin, oh no, it’s stuck! What do I do? Stumbling into the kitchen, I pace myself. A voice delicately says, “mom, I just swallowed a nickel”, but I’m told to sit down. No one believes me. So instead of pleading my case I do as I was told, and I sit down. Nothing is amusing to me and nothing is entertaining me. This feeling is abnormal. Quietly, I hang around every heart beater in the room. The pain in my throat has turned my body limp. Breaths are shorter. Awkwardness is noticed and everything that was once spinning has stopped. The swallowing of this coin has become considerate. Immediate action has been put forth. I am put in the car and rushed to the hospital. I arrive. While ten agonizing minutes pass, I cry. We arrive. In the back I lay flat on my back, surrounded and trapped by four white walls. Dizziness occurs. What is going on? Goose bumps and more tears are present. It is so quiet I could hear an ant crawl around on the floor. Creepily, doors are opened and I search to see who is coming through. A doctor with a smile turned upside down. A nurse follows with a large cup of frozen, water chips and water. I drink and drink until I can drink no more but the water doesn’t help. Now x-rays are to be taken. Pictures of the x- rays are shown. The nickel is standing up instead of lying flat. That’s how I’m able to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. Yet, the tumor feeling lump has gotten worse. Everyone is aware. Quickly things begin to fade away. I black out. I wake up and search my surroundings. I swallow. The pain is gone and I cheated death.
Love Triangle Never had I experience such hurt in my heart. I sit in the student center just enjoying my time to myself, but then he walks in. Our eyes immediately meet and my heart begins to beat increasingly faster. I’ve seen him multiples of times before, but this particularly time its different. While drowning my fries in ketchup, he stops in front of my table. He sits down without any hesitation and we talk. He is so smooth with his words. His looks were exactly my preference of a guy, tall and yellow. I am totally in a daze. It felt like we were the only two left on this earth. Numbers are exchanged and days passed. It was meant to be. Drastically, an unexpected human being appears. Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better she shows up in the picture. The picture that he and I created was now ruined by a third party. He begins to get to know her, while getting to know me. We each had a characteristic missing. The two of us would make him whole. As times passes it begins to get difficult. He can’t choose between us two. It becomes a competition. At least that’s what her simple minded thought. I just knew that nothing or anyone could come between what we have built. How wrong was I? The half has not been told. Everything changes. I sense this change that is on the way to destroy what was built. I start to make preparations for the
