The beginning of World War one started with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Soon after Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, this chained the declaring of war on many countries. Over the next four years the war would involve Italy, Japan, the Middle East and the United States. More than twenty million soldiers gave their life for the country in which they fought for, another twenty-one million soldiers were wounded, and millions died due to the spread the influenza virus that the war more than like helped spread due to the terrible conditions the soldiers faced. The assassination was not something that was just done without a thought process, the whole event was planned out be a Serbian terrorist group, called The Black Hand and the man who shot Ferdinand was a Bosnian revolutionary named Gavrilo Principe. However, there were many other factors that led to the triggering of World War One. There were many alliances between most of the European countries, meaning that if a country in which another had supported the countries that were allied with the country also had to back them up in a war because of the treaty they had already signed and agreed upon. There were two different axis powers, one being the Triple Entente and second being Central powers. The Triple Entente was made up of Britain, France, Ireland, and Russia. The Central Powers were; Germany and Austria-Hungary. One month after the assassination, July 28, 1914, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia with Germany backing them up. The wait happened because Austria-Hungary wanted to make sure that they had full support from Kaiser Wilhelm, the leader of Germany. Now Germany knowing that Austria-Hungary had to back them up in war, Germany then declared war on Russia August 1 and then on France on August 3rd,
